Duties include performing specialized technical guidance to Vocational Rehabilitation counselors, client services for people multiple disabilities, and other related miscellaneous support activities. This position requires a significant degree of independent judgement to make decisions or select a course of action based on established Vocational Rehabilitation policies and procedures, and state and federal regulations. Other duties may include:
- leadership skills and practices which result in an environment that values and rewards innovative contributions and performance, continuous learning, and positive standards of accountability.
- innovative program administration, program outreach, personnel recruitment and coordination with community and workforce partners.
- collaborative planning and fiscal management of one or more VR field office budgets, dispute resolution, and assuring program accountability and consistent demonstration of effective communication skills.
Average Wage Range
$55,000-$82,000 annual salary
To become a Vocational Rehabilitation Branch Manager
Five years of experience in supervision, staff-technical, or professional-level work related to human and/or social services. One year of this experience must have included supervision and management of a program, section, or unit which included one or more of the following areas: a) development of program rules and policies, b) development of long- and short-range goals and plans, c) program evaluation, or d) budget preparation.
OR
Five years of experience in supervision, staff-technical, or professional-level work related to human and/or social services. One year of this experience must have included program/project leader responsibility involving one or more of the following areas: a) development of program rules and policies, b) development of long- and short-range goals and plans, c) program evaluation and/or project evaluation, or d) monitoring and controlling or preparing a budget.
